VanML Code of Conduct:
All VanML participants must commit to the following Code of Conduct to ensure a safe and inclusive experience. This Code of Conduct prohibits engagement in the following activities:

Harassment, bullying, and discrimination, which includes but is not limited to: Offensive comments related to age, race, religion, creed, colour, gender (including transgender/gender identity/gender expression), sexual orientation, medical condition, physical or intellectual disability, pregnancy, or medical conditions, national origin or ancestry.

Intimidation, personal attacks, harassment, unnecessary disruptions.

Inappropriate or unprofessional behaviour that interferes with another's full participation, including: sexual harassment, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome attention, public vulgar exchanges, derogatory name-calling, and diminutive characterizations.

Use of images, activities, or other materials that are of a sexual, racial, or otherwise offensive nature that may create an inappropriate or toxic environment.

Disorderly, boisterous, or disruptive conduct, including: fighting, coercion, theft, damage to property, or any mistreatment or non-businesslike behaviour towards participants.

Zoom disruption or any virtual activity unrelated to the topic of discussion detracts from the topic or the event's purpose, including: inappropriate remarks in chat areas deemed inappropriate by organizers.

Scientific misconduct, including: fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism.
This Code of Conduct applies to every VanML venue and interaction based on this event: both physical and online venues, including Slack and Zoom. This also includes any venue you may gather in (including virtual venues) to conduct teamwork related to the event. If a participant engages in any inappropriate behaviour as defined herein, the event organizers may take action as deemed appropriate, including: a formal or informal warning to the offender, expulsion from the event, barring from participation in future events, reporting the incident to the offender's institution, or reporting the incident to local authorities or law enforcement.
The event organizers encourage all participants to immediately report any incidents of discrimination, harassment, or unprofessional conduct. All complaints will be handled as confidentially as possible, and information will be disclosed only if necessary to bring to resolution.
